I help people grow things that matter to them. Visions, businesses, social ventures, teams, dreams.
I’ve spent mylife as an entrepreneur, provocateur, educator, catalyst; growing people, businesses and possibilities. My goal is quite simple; do the most good I possibly can.
After earning my Undergraduate degree in Marketing (at the University of Illinois; Chicago) I thought I knew most everything about business I didn’t.
Thankfully, I was hired as a Regional Supervisor and over the years I began to learn what prior to that, I assumed I’d mastered. Immersed in the lives of my team, on the front line of a service business day in and day out, I quickly learned that the heart and soul of business is people. As much as I loved marketing and communication my interest paled in comparison to my passion for helping people unleash their best to achieve a common goal.
It was during my 16 years as employee and then co-owner of a multi-million dollar service company (Third Dimension Salons) which served 25,000 clients a week with 500 employees that I earned my experiential PhD in leading and organizational change.
After selling the company to an international competitor in 1999 I went back to school and earned my Masters in teaching (MAT Seattle Pacific University 2004). Before too long I was back in business, knee deep in a start-up (Kera Vita). I was unsuccessful in securing the capital to grow the venture so it was closed.
Soon thereafter, I began collaborating with entrepreneurs and leaders. To date I’ve teamed with businesses on both coasts, in Mexico and in small towns like Edmonds Washington. I’ve worked in with individuals who are negotiating transitions, change and new life intersections across a myriad of circumstances. I’ve worked with start-up, transition and growth ventures across a wide array of businesses; financial, non-profit, resort, spa, salons, coffee houses, restaurants, online gaming, construction, retail and professional services.
